Introducing Boxing Babes Studio: In Your Corner, Always
Hi, I’m Jannah—artist, writer, and founder of Boxing Babes Studio.
Boxing Babes Studio is a small watercolor studio based in Maryland, creating hand-painted cards and custom paper goods about best friendship, girlhood, and showing up for one another. The name comes from a group of best friends, affectionately known as the “boxing babes,” who over decades of friendship have always been in each other’s corner—through career changes, marriage, births, grief, divorce, cross-country moves, and personal growth.
This studio is, quite simply, a love letter to them.
The Origin of the Boxing Babes
The Boxing Babes began in Los Angeles in our mid-twenties—drawn together by a shared love of fitness, fashion, and big, ambitious goals for the lives we were dreaming of. What started as group workouts and post-class smoothies quickly became something deeper: a chosen family of six women who would grow up, build our lives, and evolve side by side.
We used to take boxing classes together every week—gloves on, hair tied back, moving through combinations while talking through life at a requisite brunch after class. There was something grounding about it: the rhythm, the discipline, the quiet understanding that we were all fighting for something—careers, identity, stability, dreams. Building our strength literally and figuratively alongside each other.

Over time, life took us in different directions, but never away from each other.
Marlyse stayed in Los Angeles, building a life as a real estate agent, fitness instructor, and mother. She’s the one who keeps us laughing when things feel heavy and reminds us not to take life too seriously. She can always be counted on for the hottest new workout in town.
Julie, the cool Venice gal, carved out a powerful career as a brand strategist and advertising executive—sharp, visionary, and always ten steps ahead. She’s the first to bake you a pie, but while discussing the newest article in BofF or the Economist and blasting some old-school 90’s hip hop.
Courtney, now in the Bay Area, leads her family firm while teaching pilates, balancing discipline with an effortless sense of calm and intention. Her phone is a rolodex of resources to keep her friends and family well and is the first to raise her hand for a meditation retreat. Preferably in the jungle.
Sara, adventured east to New York City, where she blends real estate and motherhood with a deep love of fashion and wellness—equal parts driven and deeply attuned. Need a reservation at the hottest new restaurant in the city, or invitation to a secret sample sale? Look no further.
Ashley, back in Los Angeles, is a Michelin-trained chef and founder of La Cuisine and AF Homes, creating beautiful, thoughtful spaces and experiences. She’s the best person to call when you need to dream big, plan your next trip to Paris, or figure out how to keep your boundaries in scenarios big and small.
And me—Jannah—based in Maryland, working as a senior executive while always returning to writing and art as a way to process, preserve, and celebrate it all. I’m the one who looks for traditions big and small to keep us connected - whether it be a weekly Wednesday Waffle video in the group chat, or making something homemade for the littlest additions to our crew.
We are all multi-hyphenates in our own ways, but more importantly, we are mirrors, sounding boards, and steady hands for one another. Over the years, we’ve learned something simple and powerful: we are the key to each other’s success.
A Friendship That Travels
Boxing Babes in Paris
Our lives have taken us across cities and continents, but we continue to meet each other wherever we are. Or, even better… somewhere new we can explore together.
We’ve traveled for work and pleasure together —international conferences, long weekends in the desert, meditation retreats in the mountains, spontaneous trips built around a birthday, a must-try restaurant (especially if it has a good cinnamon roll), new art exhibit, or simply fall in Paris. We find each other in pilates studios, boxing gyms, music festivals, and tucked-away cafés.
No matter the setting, the rhythm is the same: we show up.
And that idea—showing up, again and again—is the heartbeat of Boxing Babes Studio.
The Art Behind the Studio
Every piece I create begins as an original watercolor painting. There’s something about watercolor—the softness, the fluidity, the way it resists perfection—that feels true to friendship and to life’s seasons.
These paintings are then printed in small batches on high-quality paper, designed to feel personal, warm, and worth keeping.
Because the moments we’re marking aren’t small. They make up the fabric of thing that we will look back on and call our lives.
They’re birthday facetimes squeezed between meetings.
They’re “thinking of you” notes and texts sent during hard weeks.
They’re last-minute toddler parties, client thank-yous, and quiet gestures between friends who don’t need many words.
Designed for Women Who Do It All
Boxing Babes Studio is built for the high-powered woman—the one balancing career, family, friendships, and everything in between, while trying to find the moments to slow down and cherish the ride.
You might be:
Running from a meeting to school pickup
Closing a deal while planning a birthday
Traveling for work but still wanting to send something meaningful
Remembering, at the last minute, that someone you love deserves to be celebrated
These cards are made for you.
They’re thoughtful without requiring time you don’t have.
They’re elevated without feeling overdone.
They help you show up—beautifully, consistently, and with intention.
In Your Corner
At its core, Boxing Babes Studio isn’t just about paper goods.
It’s about honoring the people who hold us up.
It’s about capturing the quiet, everyday moments that shape our lives.
It’s about friendship that evolves, endures, and strengthens over time.
It’s about being in each other’s corner—always.
Thank you for being here.
