What’s In My Bag: The Can’t-Live-Without Edit
There’s always a bag, and it’s always full. Right now, it’s the TibixLL Bean Tote—the kind of bag that goes everywhere with me and somehow holds exactly what I need without trying too hard. I’ve always been a giant bag girl and this hits the spot. If you looked inside, you’d find a mix of work, and play necessities that get me through long days moving between leadership team meetings, mom-life, studio time, and everything in between. I’m a paper person at heart, so my lemon yellow Smythson planner (similar here) is non-negotiable, along with a tight edit of Muji .5 pens and Flair pens for whatever list, note, or idea needs to happen in the moment. Between being an executive, artist/business owner, and mom of two toddlers, there’s usually an “oh shit, I can’t forget…” popping into my head as I dash between gigs and that note has to go somewhere. There’s also always a Pentel GraphGear .5 pencil, a Staedtler eraser, and a small sketchbook—because inspiration is inconvenient like that. If I need to throw in two laptops and a stack of powerpoint notes, there’s space. It’s a good bag.
The rest are the fundamentals. My Chanel wallet is a forever piece that reminds me that beautiful, well crafted luxuries belong in our every day. I have a million pairs of Warby Parker glasses (most of which have sustained a toddler scratch or two) and Krewe du Optic sunglasses that are my signature. They opened out of my optometrist’s office when I lived in New Orleans and I’m fiercely loyal. At this stage my beauty routine is minimal but intentional: Ilia mascara, Nuxe lipbalm, and Kiehl’s or Barbara Sturm hand lotion live at the bottom of the bag, after they’ve fallen out of the cosmetic bag I got to organize myself, along with a stack of lens wipes I somehow always need (toddlers again). Hopefully there’s an extra hair tie in there too, but probably not. AirPods are essential, obviously. I want to be wired earphone girl, but the buds hurt my ears. And the small extra that feels very on-brand for me: a box of Rose Los Angeles delights —because sometimes the day calls for taking the edge off, just slightly, and the farm-to-table of it all makes me feel right back in LA. There might be a mahjong card there somewhere too. I’m trying to learn.
None of this is sponsored. Just the real things that work for me. And real is good.
